Marios P. Charalambides is a Partner in the Assurance Services Department of Grant Thornton Cyprus. He has more than 20 years of professional experience, with a strong track record across multiple industries and a specialisation in the Financial Services sector. His expertise includes assurance, risk, governance, IFRS reporting, and general business advisory services. Marios has advised banks, investment firms, and funds on complex projects and regulatory challenges, and has acted as the engagement leader in numerous audit and advisory assignments for both private and listed companies in Cyprus and abroad.
Sector Experience: Assurance engagement leader for several funds, fund managers, insurance companies and investment firms; led reviews of policies and procedures for an international bank seeking to passport custody and depositary services into Cyprus; developed advisory offerings for the establishment of fund administration offices; prepared legal and regulatory comparative analyses for funds in EU and offshore jurisdictions; contributed to the drafting of legislation governing fund administration services; and participated in the review of amendments to the Alternative Investment Funds Law.
