A band formed by colleagues, GT Chords turns music into connection and purpose, supporting the Grant Thornton Cyprus Foundation through Concert for a Cause.
GT Chords began in 2019 with something very simple. Two colleagues who loved music decided to play together. What started as an informal idea with two microphones, guitars and an amplifier slowly grew into a band that now brings people from across the firm together through rhythm, energy and shared passion.
Today, the band is made up of colleagues from different departments, backgrounds and stages in their careers. Many of them took music classes when they were younger, others picked up their instruments again after years. For all of them, music is not a profession, it is a passion. It is something they choose to do beyond their day to day roles, simply because it brings them joy.
Playing in a band is not only about getting the notes right. It is about listening, understanding when to step forward and when to hold back, and trusting the people beside you. That sense of collaboration feels very familiar. It reflects how we work across the firm, different voices coming together to create something meaningful.
For the band, GT Chords is a creative outlet that helps them recharge after demanding days. Music gives them a way to switch off from work, express themselves and reconnect with the people around them in a different way.
GT Chords performs at Concert for a Cause, a special event organised in support of the Grant Thornton Cyprus Foundation. On that night, colleagues, clients, friends and families come together not only to enjoy the music, but to stand behind a shared purpose.

The Grant Thornton Cyprus Foundation
Grant Thornton Cyprus Foundation was formed in 2017 by Grant Thornton people. The aim of our Foundation is to help at least one underprivileged person pursue his or her educational goal. In order to raise money for this cause we organise various internal and external events.
Concert for a Cause is one of the Foundation’s flagship events. It combines what we do best as a firm, coming together as a community, with what the Foundation stands for, giving young people the chance to build a better future. GT Chords sits at the heart of this effort, helping transform a night of music into a night of possibility.
GT Chords shows that impact does not always come from big gestures. Sometimes it begins with a group of colleagues who choose to share their passion and bring joy to others.
The band represents connection, by bringing people together across teams and locations. It represents community, by standing behind causes that give back. It expresses creativity, by allowing colleagues to show a different side of themselves. And it creates belonging, by opening a space where everyone feels welcome to listen, support and be part of the experience.

During Concert for a Cause, that feeling is even stronger.
